What is Carnosine and what are the benefits of using it?

Carnosine is a combination of amino acids Beta-alanine and L-histidine. Human skin cells rapidly recover their youthful appearance and are rejuvenated with Carnosine. It helps prevent cross-linking of collagen fibers causing the characteristic of wrinkling and loss of elasticity. Carnosine maintains the skin's immune defenses, which are suppressed by exposure to the sun's UV rays. It also aids in wound healing when applied topically, as it accelerates cell division. Carnosine levels decrease with age, which causes cell division to decrease.

Why does my second bottle have a different color and why does it seem thicker?

Due to the natural makeup of Alpha Lipoic Acid and Vitamin C Ester, they react chemically together and may cause the product to change colors. The colors may range anywhere from golden brown to dark brown. This is a natural occurrence and the variance of color does not reduce the effectivness of the product. A drop of bottled or distilled water will help to thin the serum out if it does get too thick.

When will I see results?

On average, our customers see results within 2-3 weeks. Some people may see results within 1-2 days, and there are some customers who may take up to 5-6 weeks to see full benefits. It all depends on genetics and existing damage to the skin.

Why does my moisturizer congeal when I put it on over the Wrinkle Serum?

You must allow enough absorbtion time between the serum and moisturizer. Allow 15 minutes between applications of the serum and moisturizer. This should allow adequate time for maximum absorption of the Wrinkle Serum through all 3 layers of the skin.

Return to Questions »

Why should I use both the Wrinkle Serum and the Facial Moisturizer?

The serum is not a moisturizer and may cause some dryness to the skin. We have developed a Nutritional Facial Moisturizer as a complement to our Wrinkle Serum. Our moisturizer is a quality product that may be used alone. However when used in conjunction with the Wrinkle Serum the benefits you will receive from the key ingredients are maximized, therefore together they smooth and soften your skin throughout the day.

I have extremely sensitive skin, can I use the Wrinkle Serum?

Yes, all of our products are safe to use on any type of skin. Since the product is all-natural, it will not harm the skin. It is a non-toxic product and is safe to use around the eyes and eyelids, as well as on the lips.

Is this product safe to use when you are going to be in the sun? Should I use sunscreen?

There are ingredients in our products that can cause skin sensitivity when exposed to the sun for a prolonged period of time. Therefore, we recommend that you do not use the Youthful Essentials products during situations with prolonged sun exposure. However, if you use sunscreen as part of your normal daily regimen, apply the Wrinkle Serum first, followed by the sunscreen and then the Facial Moisturizer. Remember to allow proper drying time between applications.
